ABOUT THE ARTIST/SONG: Hi, I’m Zaac Pick, thanks for reading this and maybe even listening to the new song. Let’s skip the part where I pretend I didn’t write this myself though, ok? I’m a singer-songwriter from Vancouver, BC Canada who writes introspective indie-folk songs, mostly about feeling confusing things. Some of them have been on tv shows like One Tree Hill or Degrassi, usually while someone is crying. I’ve opened for a few folks you might have heard of, like The Civil Wars, Noah Gundersen, and Bahamas, which was really fun because they were all very nice and I’m a fan of their work. More recently, I’ve released a new track called ‘Light Under The Door’, the first in a series of singles to come out in 2023. It’s a reassuring embrace disguised as a hypnotic mid-tempo modern folk song — about re-discovering reasons to be hopeful, in moments when it feels like the world outside is only getting darker. I wrote it last winter, feeling overwhelmed by my pandemic-era news feeds, after realizing how easy it is to lose perspective when you’re staring at anything the same way for too long. It was produced in collaboration with Jonathan Anderson (Ocie Elliot, Andy Shauf), and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening.
